Walker College of Business students were featured in the December edition of Appalachian State University's Hickory Herald, a monthly newsletter for the university's Hickory campus community.
The students were management senior Anderson Bolick and accounting senior Lauren McPherson. Both are completing capstone courses with Dr. Jose Riera; both recently presented to a panel of professionals.
Bolick presented to industry professionals from Estonia, Peeter Kuum and Raul Vene, Hickory public figure Tom Luckadoo, and Michael McNally, director of economic development and corporate engagement.
Bolick’s presentation was part of a global awareness course. Bolick offered strategic recommendations to the Estonian furniture company Wermo regarding its expansion into U.S. markets.
"App State Hickory’s campus commitment to global engagement and experiential learning, giving students a platform to influence real-world business decisions," noted the Herald.
McPherson presented to Forvis Mazars senior partner and App State alumni David Henderson '95 and Gary Greer '97. McPherson plans to join the firm after graduating from App State in December.
"The Hickory campus’s strategic emphasis on practitioner‑led classroom instruction and on providing real-life skills directly supports our students’ professional growth and career advancement," noted the Herald.
