Professional selling students earn accolades, prize money at National Shores Sales Challenge

Students from Appalachian State University traveled to Salisbury, Maryland to compete in the National Shores Sales Challenge (NSSC) April 5-6.

Senior marketing major Kennedy Burton, senior supply chain management major Christine Parker and senior management major Cody Zimmerman formed the team, competing against their peers from 40 business schools nationwide in role-play and speed-selling competitions.

Parker placed third overall, earning $500 in prize money for her efforts, and Zimmerman tied for sixth.

Student coaches Nick Alberse and Heatherlyn Hardesty and faculty coaches James FylesBarrett Garner and Bonnie Guy supported the team. During their travels, the group was hosted by Jim and Chris Perdue at their family's home, where the students met and spent time with them and Perdue CEO Kevin McAdams.
