An executive from North Carolina Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NCAMIC) was on campus at Appalachian State University recently to present scholarships to risk management and insurance majors.
NCAMIC President Mike Williams presented juniors Shelby Weatherman and Peyton McAvoy each a $2,500 scholarship during Appalachian's Gamma Iota Sigma Open House on Janaury 24.
This marks the fourth year that NCAMIC has awarded scholarships to students at Appalachian's Walker College of Business. Weatherman will intern with SCOR Reinsurance in Charlotte, NC for summer 2017, and McAvoy will intern with Lockton in Kansas City, MO.
