Commencement is the ultimate celebration of one of the most significant accomplishments of our students' lifetimes. Appalachian State University will host both virtual and in-person commencement ceremonies to meet the needs of our Spring 2021 graduates, which include 658 business undergraduates and 92 graduates from the MBA, MS in Accounting and MS in Applied Data Analytics programs.
In-person Ceremonies
For advance registrants, in-person university-level ceremonies will be held at various times May 7-12 in the Holmes Convocation Center. A livestream of each university-level ceremony will be made available at appstate.edu/commencement.
Additionally, the Walker College of Business will host an in-person hooding ceremony for Master of Science in Accounting graduates at 4:00 p.m. on May 6 in the Schaefer Center. This is an invitation only event; for more information, please contact Jill Hoekstra, hoekstrajr@appstate.edu.
Virtual Ceremonies
A virtual video, in which App State Chancellor Sheri Everts will confer degrees upon graduates, will be made available at appstate.edu/commencement on May 7.
Additionally, the Walker College's Office of Graduate Programs will host a virtual hooding ceremony for MBA and Master of Science in Applied Data Analytics graduates on Thursday, May 6 at 6:00 p.m. For more information or a link to join the May 6 event, please contact Donna Lindabury, lindaburydm@appstate.edu, or visit business.appstate.edu/hooding.
Additionally, by May 6, the Walker College of Business will post video messages to business.appstate.edu/commencement, including featured speeches from undergraduate speaker Zoe Huffines, graduate speaker Peter Anobil, and Walker College Dean Sandra Vannoy.
