Student members of Appalachian's Phi Beta Lambda chapter recently traveled to the organization's State Leadership Conference in Charlotte, NC April 7-9.
The leadership conference coincides with the FBLA National Awards Program, which recognizes and rewards excellence in a broad range of business and career-related areas.
During the event, students competed in events testing their business knowledge and skills, and all Appalachian delegates, listed below, placed in their events.
John Vines: Business Presentation, 1st Place; Integrated Marketing Campaign, 2nd Place
Madie Roach: Integrated Marketing Campaign, 2nd Place
Joseph Gray: Business Law, 1st Place
Jenny Zheng: Job Interview, 6th Place
Tim Bethea: International Business, 2nd Place
McKenzie Worley: Social Media Campaign, 4th Place
Abby Young: Future Business Executive, 2nd Place; Social Media Campaign, 4th Place
The Appalachian students will go on to compete in leadership events, share successes and workshops at the 2016 National Leadership Conference in Atlanta, Georgia June 24-27.
There are more than 500 chapters and 10,000 members of Phi Beta Lambda, the undergraduate level of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). The organization aims to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs.
