Sywassink Room for Academic Excellence dedicated to Mr. GA Sywassink and the Sywassink Family

On September 16, the Walker College of Business at Appalachian State University officially opened the Sywassink Room for Academic Excellence and dedicated it to Mr. GA Sywassink and the Sywassink Family.

The room, which features technology enhancements like multiple displays and increased connectivity to allow for better learning engagement, is the university's newest active learning classroom.

The Sywassink Room for Academic Excellence is housed in Peacock Hall on the first floor.

Mr. GA Sywassink is chair and owner of Standard Holding Corporation, Chair Emeritus of the Walker College of Business Advisory Council, a past member of the UNC Board of Governors, and a past App State Trustee.

App State Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor Heather Hulburt Norris, past Sywassink Excellence Awardees, and members of the Sywassink Family attended a ribbon cutting and reception to honor and celebrate this legacy of excellence.
