Tilton named director of Appalachian State University’s MBA program

Dr. Jacqueline Tilton has been named director of Appalachian State University’s MBA program.

Tilton is an associate professor in the Walker College of Business’ Department of Management. Since joining App State’s faculty in 2019, Tilton has served as a member of the college’s global and social sustainability steering committees.

As MBA director, Tilton will now provide strategic leadership, academic oversight, and operational management for the MBA program and ensure program quality and student success in alignment with college, university, and AACSB strategic priorities.

“Dr. Tilton brings experience in teaching, research, and service, including as a leader for college committees such as sustainability and civic engagement, and as a program leader for international experiences, among other roles," said Dr. Jason Xiong, associate dean for advanced studies in business. “With a clear focus on student success, I am confident Dr. Tilton will provide steady leadership for the MBA program as we build on 50 years of excellence.”

Tilton’s teaching centers on business ethics, and her research focuses on workplace dignity and economic diversity. She has earned the college’s Dean’s Club Research Prize, recognizing mission-driven, high-impact and innovative research; its Triple E Award, celebrating excellence in sustainable business across environment, equity, and economy; and the Inspiring International Leaders Award for her commitment to global education, impactful service initiatives, and outstanding leadership.

Tilton earned her PhD from the University of Arkansas as the Frank & Donna Oldham Doctoral Fellow and was recognized as the 2019 Outstanding Graduate Student Teacher.
