John Lacy '97 has been named President of Burlington, Vermont-based Burton Snowboards. Lacy has worked in various roles in the company for over 18 years.
Lacy, who received his BSBA in Finance and Banking from Appalachian State University's Walker College of Business, will report to Burton CEO Donna Carpenter, and both newly appointed employees will be charged with ensuring Founder and Chairman Jake Burton Carpenter's vision for the company.
The duo will oversee the brand and business for Burton; Carpenter will continue to oversee Sustainability, Legal, the Chill Foundation, Human Resources and US Sales; and Lacy will oversee Product, Marketing, Operations and Finance. In addition, Lacy will lead Burton's international business in Europe, Asia-Pacific and Canada.
According to Transworld Business, Lacy said he is knows "great things are ahead for the brand, our sport and our lifestyle."
