Walker College associate dean for graduate programs and research selected to participate in 24th BRIDGES program

Bridges logoDr. Sandra Vannoy, associate dean for graduate programs and research in the Walker College of Business at Appalachian State University, has been selected for the 24th cohort of BRIDGES, an intensive academic leadership initiative for women in higher education.

The program, which is sponsored by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, will span four weekends from September 9 to November 12. The 2016 theme is transformational leadership, sometimes called "visionary leadership," which incorporates values of empowering others and precipitating change.

Designed to help women identify, understand, and build their leadership roles in the academy, the annual program offers a series of workshops at the Aqueduct Conference Center and the William and Ida Friday Center for Continuing Education in Chapel Hill, NC.

Since its inception in 1993, more than 600 women have completed the program from public and private universities across North Carolina.
