Walker College Business Advisory Council member, alumnus named Lowe's CFO

Walker College Business Advisory Council member Marshall Croom '86 has been named chief financial officer for Lowe's Companies.

Mr. Croom, who previously served as Lowes' chief risk officer, succeeds Bob Hull Jr., who will retire this March. Croom will report to Robert A. Niblock, Lowe's chairman, president and CEO.

An accounting alumnus of the Walker College of Business at Appalachian State University, Mr. Croom has served as a leader on the college's advisory council since 2001, including terms as chair and vice chair. Mr. Croom earned Appalachian's Outstanding Service Award in 2014.
