Walker College students compete in third annual UGA Stock Pitch Challenge

A team of Walker College of Business students advanced to the finals of the third annual University of Georgia (UGA) Stock Pitch Challenge on January 27.

Walker College students compete in third annual UGA Stock Pitch ChallengeThe Appalachian State University students are senior finance and banking major Jewell Ward, senior finance, banking and insurance major Ana Silverstein, junior accounting major James Marlowe, and senior finance and banking major John Rucker. They traveled to Athens, Georgia to compete for the first place prize of $5,000.

The students are all members of the university's Bowden Investment Group, which provides students with a hands‐on investment experience using in-depth equity analysis. UGA's Terry College of Business also coordinates a student management investment fund.

The students were selected based on their submission including an investment thesis and qualitative and quantitative analysis of financial models. For more information about the competition, visit ugasmif.com
