Ten student finalists have been selected to pitch their best business idea at the Appalachian Pitch Contest, scheduled for Thursday, March 24 at 2:00pm, on the campus of Appalachian State University. Big Idea Logo

The contestants and respective business names are: Noah Koch, AdRenture; Jake Hartman, Campus Cleaners; Mollie Gentry, Dry Thighs; Dale Yarborough, Gidoa; Kameron Kales and Chris Comrie, Glance; Curtis Compton and Lauren Chesnet, Lok Up; Bailey Winecoff, NC Downhill; Jabari Myles and Kaitlyn Little, Project Music; Taelor Critcher, Something Green; and Zak Ammar, Vixster

Each student entrepreneur will have two minutes to explain their business idea to a panel of entrepreneur judges, who will award $2000+ in prize money. The top prize is $1000, and there will be additional prizes, including $500 for Audience Choice. Audience members should bring friends and come ready to cast a vote. No registration necessary to attend.

The event will be held in the Holmes Convocation Center. Shuttles will run between Peacock Hall and the Rivers Street Parking Deck to the HolmesCenter until the conclusion of the event.

The pitch contest is hosted by Appalachian's Transportation Insight Center for Entrepreneurship and sponsored by The Hockey Stick Principles, a book by Appalachian alumnus, author, and entrepreneur Bobby Martin about the four key stages to entrepreneurial success.
