Dr. Alan Singer, professor of management in the Walker College of Business at Appalachian State University, recently published a book entitled Understanding Left and Right: An Illustrated Guide to the Political Divide.
According to the publisher's site, the text suggests that rational truth seeking can lead people toward the center and away from extreme positions and provides insight into basic issues including ethics, truth, language, gender, equality and ecology, amongst others.
Singer, who joined the faculty at Appalachian in 2008, teaches business ethics and contemporary issues in management and leadership in the Walker College. He previously held the Holshouser Distinguished Professorship in Ethics at Appalachian.
