Appalachian State University has been named a Strong Performer by Best's Review for its outstanding risk management and insurance (RMI) program.
The listing was including in the February 2018 issue of Best's Review, which, according to their site, is the insurance industry's premier monthly news magazine delivering insightful, award-winning coverage of compelling topics such as agent/broker, life, property/casualty, reinsurance/capital markets, technology and more.
Appalachian was noted for its RMI program's high industry engagement and graduates' strong work ethic and commitment.
According to the summary, an advisory board of industry professionals (brokers, agents, reinsurers) sets it apart, providing both guidance and unique resources. Appalachian may be the only program in the nation to offer an employee benefits minor and is also one of the few that teaches an international markets course.
The resources and engagement opportunities are coordinated through Appalachian's Brantley Risk & Insurance Center, housed in the Walker College of Business.
