Alumnus, Business Advisory Council member receives NCACPA’s highest honor

Appalachian State Univeristy alumnus and Business Advisory Council member Benjamin C. Hamrick CPA has earned the Pinnacle Award -- the highest honor bestowed by the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants (NCACPA).

Hamrick, CEO & Shareholder of Johnson Price Sprinkle PA,  received the award during NCACPA's 2018 Recognition Dinner held at the Raleigh Marriott Center City in Raleigh, NC on July 31, 2018. 

The award recognizes individuals who have had a profound and significant influence on the CPA profession and/or the association itself. 

According to the original post, Early in his career, Ben was influenced by Zig Ziglar's quote "You will get all you want in life if you help enough other people get what they want" and Ben has lived his life accordingly. Ben has been dedicated to helping individuals, organizations, communities, and the state, through his leadership and willingness to give.

Ben has held multiple leadership positions within NCACPA including Board of Director Chair, Treasurer, Investment Committee Chair, Audit Committee Chair, and Nominating Committee Chair. He has sat on the Advisory Council as well as the Forensics and Valuation Services Committee for the national professional CPA organization, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Locally, Ben has provided leadership to the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce as its' Board of Director Chair, Treasurer, Finance Committee Chair, and Audit Committee Chair. Ben has also enjoyed his participation as an Appalachian State University Walker College of Business – Business Advisory Council Member; University of North Carolina Asheville Department of Management & Accountancy Advisory Board Member and Family Business Forum Board of Director; Branch Banking & Trust Advisory Board Chair; OpenDoors of Asheville Board of Director; and, Asheville Youth Cycling Board of Director.

Needless to say, Ben Hamrick's exhaustive involvement has had ripple effects on many – personally and professionally – which has led to multiple recognitions throughout the years. From Volunteer of the Year to being named an MP Elite by Accounting Today Magazine, Ben's genuine and sincere efforts have been impactful. But none more impactful than his influence on Johnson Price Sprinkle PA where his career began and has remained since receiving his B.S.B.A. in Accounting and Information Systems from Appalachian State University. Throughout his 30+ year career at JPS, Ben has dedicated himself to the firm, its' people, his clients, and his professional development. As CEO, he continues to lead the firm in its mission To Be Greater by positively impacting our Clients, People, Community and Profession. And as a proud father and husband, Ben enjoys his work/life balance by spending quality time with his family.
