Great Business Schools

According to the Great Business School website, the organization aims “to give business students a portal that tells them everything they need to know before they commit to a business education.”

To rank the best online bachelor's in business, Great Business School editors used five categories of qualifications including: alumni salary, graduation rate, job placement rate, student reviews and tuition rate.

To highlight the ranking, Great Business Schools editors wrote that “Appalachian State University is one of the more affordable college options.”

Appalachian State University’s online BSBA in Management

For North Carolina residents, Appalachian’s tuition costs $163 per credit hour. For out-of-state residents, credit hours cost $664 each. The degree requires 120 credit hours, and 50 credit hours must be earned through Appalachian State University.

The program is offered part-time and full-time and is 100% online. For the year-round, part-time option, the completion time would be about two years. For the year-round, full-time option, the completion time would be about four and a half years.

Being online, the degree is designed for flexible scheduling and for students of all backgrounds and age groups. The program shows that Appalachian’s faculty and staff strive to accommodate learners who may not be able to be in a classroom full time due to a variety of reasons, including jobs and families. According to Appalachian’s website, the program “is ideal for all busy, working adults who aspire to complete their undergraduate degrees on their own schedule.”

Marie Benson, who is a part of the media relations team of Great Business Schools, wrote in an email message, “working adults who want to see their career progress may find their best shot with an online bachelor’s completion program. As bachelor’s degrees become a standard minimum requirement, completing a degree online helps current professionals stay competitive and move to the next stage of their career.”

In order to participate in the program, the following criteria is required: transfer admission to the university, having a minimum of 68 transfer credit hours (including some required for the degree) and meeting the university’s general education requirements.

Like the traditional on-campus programs the Walker College offers, the online degree provides students the business knowledge and skills needed to effectively and efficiently manage organizations in a rapidly changing, dynamic and competitive global marketplace.

Some common careers that are sought after receiving a BSBA in management include, but are not limited to, business manager, corporate investment banker, data analyst or project consultant.

“With organization, problem-solving and the ability to think ahead, App State graduates are recognized as leaders,” the Great Business Schools article included.
