Appalachian named top accounting school

Appalachian State University has been named a top accounting school by study.com. Ranking #18 on the 2020 list of the best accounting schools in the country, Appalachian was selected for its academic and career resources for accounting students, the quality of education, and program accessibility, among other factors.

From the posting: Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina, offers a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Accounting and a Master of Science in Accounting - both programs have an average class size of only 28 students, providing a personal-based environment. The MS in Accounting program has tracks in both general accounting and tax accounting, and a Professional Analytics Certificate can be added on by completing just six extra credits. Individuals enrolled in these programs will have the option to complete short-term study abroad experiences, and graduates have gone on to secure employment with companies like Wells Fargo Audit Services, Bernard Robinson & Company, and BGW CPA.

The University of North Carolina at Asheville - a sister institution in Appalachian's University of North Carolina System - also made the list, ranking #36.
