The Walker College of Business Office for Advanced Studies in Business will host concurrent Dean's Club Lunch and Learns on Monday, March 18, 11:30 AM, in Peacock Hall.
The events are aimed at business faculty at Appalachian State University, but they are open to all community members at no cost to attend.
The Dean's Club Lunch and Learn Series provides a forum to increase awareness among faculty about the types of research taking place in the Walker College and creates opportunities for interdisciplinary research.
Presenters will share their works in progress and gather constructive feedback from colleagues. Attendees will learn about interesting methodologies, theories and research approaches and form future collaborations.
Presenters
Eight faculty members in the Walker College of Business will present their research. Moderator Tanga Mohr will moderate the session featuring:
- Dr. Russell Haines (CIS) Technology Adoption and Learning Engagement with ChatGPT: Transference of an AI Tool to A New Context.
- Dr. Pia Albinsson (MKT-SCM) The Consumer on Stage: Toward a typology of improvisation in consumption contexts.
- Dr. David Dickinson (ECO) Gambling habits and probability judgments in a Bayesian task environment.
- Dr. Tammy Kowalczyk (ACC) Does requiring more climate disclosure improve carbon emissions performance?
Jason Xiong will moderate another session, which will feature:
- Dr. David Shows (MKT-SCM) Interpersonal Trust and Its Effect on Hedonic and Utilitarian Value in Cryptocurrencies and Non-Fungible Tokens.
- Dr. Brock Stoddard (ECO)
- Dr. Wei Xie (CIS) The Dual Descriptive and Social Norm Model to Understand 3D-Printed Clothing Adoption Intention: an Empirical Study.
- Dr. Darin Hodges (CIS) The mediating effect of intrinsic motivation on perceived work uncertainty for individual information security policy compliance.

About Faculty Research in the Walker College of Business
The Walker College faculty produce and disseminate extensive research through both academic and professional communities. In the last five years, faculty have published 543 peer reviewed academic journal articles, 160 conference proceedings, and made 533 conference and professional presentations. In total, faculty have produced 1,175 intellectual contributions in the last five years. Approximately 520 intellectual contributions were made in basic or discovery research, 540 in applied or integrative research, and 115 contributions in teaching and learning research.
