Students from Appalachian State University participated in the Excel Esports Weekend Battle Feb 20-23, part of the Microsoft Excel Collegiate Challenge (MECC).
App State’s top performers were as follows.

- Ashley Meacham, Accounting and Finance/Banking
- William Landrum, Finance/Banking
- Rachel Hamlin, International Business
The competition challenged participants to complete a series of Excel tasks of increasing levels of difficulty within a short span of 30 minutes. The primary goal of all MECC competitions is to supplement college curriculums by providing engaging and gamified Excel training that helps better prepare students for their careers.
