In the News: Green Passport connects Boone with environmentally friendly local businesses

The Student Sustainable Business Association (SSBA), a student organization in Appalachian State University's Walker College of Business, is helping connect the campus with the Boone community through its new Sustainably, Boone initiative.

The project highlights local businesses committed to sustainable practices through a “Green Passport” that encourages visitors to explore downtown Boone, collect stamps and learn more about environmental efforts across the community.

“The idea behind it was that we want a way to continue our ties with businesses in an ongoing, structured way,” said senior applied data analytics major and co-president of the SSBA, Asher Fazal.
