Tuition and Fees

Walker College of Business Graduate Fellowships

Fellowships are awarded to incoming graduate students who exhibit the following characteristics:

  • A superior record of achievement in academic and/or career settings

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Strong leadership potential

Every applicant to the Main Campus and Online MBA programs is automatically considered for fellowships during the admissions process, and candidates will be notified if selected for an award no later than the end of the application deadline month (July 31 for Fall admission, November 30 for Spring admission, or April 30 for Summer admission). 

Fellowships are awarded to incoming students only, and no new awards are granted beyond the first semester. Qualified Accelerated Admission students will be considered in the semester following successful completion of their undergraduate degree. Recipients must maintain good standing and the GPA requirement as specified in their award letter. 

Fellowship recipients are expected to represent the MBA program well at events such as information sessions, orientations, and advisory board meetings, as requested.

Main Campus MBA Fellowships

  • Scholarship support totaling $6,000 - $18,000

    • awarded in amounts of $2,000 - $6,000 per semester for three consecutive semesters (including summer)

  • Graduate Assistantship (GA) totaling $6,000 - $18,000

    • GA contract for 10-20 hours per week for three consecutive semesters (including summer)

    • Students earn $20 per hour and are paid every two weeks

    • Total award amount is based on the actual number of hours worked and ranges from $2,000-$6,000 per semester

    • GAs are assigned to work with a department or professor in the Walker College of Business

  • Available to full-time students enrolled in at least 9 credit hours each semester

  • Fellowship recipients wishing to pursue a summer internship may petition for their summer scholarship and/or assistantship awards to be deferred to the fall

Online MBA Fellowships

  • Scholarship support of $6,000 - $12,000

    • awarded in amounts of $1,000 - $2,000 per semester for six consecutive semesters (including summer)

  • Available to online students enrolled in at least 6 credit hours each semester

Assistantships

College

Assistantships are available to students in a variety of areas such as teaching, research, and work in one of our Walker College of Business departments.  Students must be on-campus and enrolled full time (at least 9 hours) to qualify and are invited to apply each semester.  Please contact Ms. Donna Lindabury at lindaburydm@appstate.edu for more information.

Scholarships

International Students

International  students who enroll in our program will receive a scholarship of $500 in their first semester. These funds are meant to defray the additional application costs for international students. This scholarship will be paid in the month after the term start date.

Study Abroad

The MBA Program is pleased to offer financial assistance for international study abroad to students in need.  Students will be invited to apply each fall and spring semester as funding permits.

Professional Development

The Breazeale-King Professional Development Award is presented to a MBA student with a concentration in Human Resources or International Business, or with a dual degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology and Human Resource Management. Preference is for funds to be used for professional development activities such as attending a conference, paying for membership in a professional organization, attending statewide or regional meetings, etc. The awardee will receive a one-time scholarship of up to $1000.

Federal Financial Aid

Federal financial aid is available to on-campus AND online, degree-seeking and certificate-seeking students who are US citizens or permanent residents and are enrolled at least 1/2 time (4.5 hours).  Learn more.
