Students from Appalachian State University's American Marketing Association (AMA) will participate in the AMA International Collegiate Conference for the second consecutive year.
The conference, scheduled for March 16 in New Orleans, Louisiana, will provide numerous ways for club members to grow within the marketing industry.
Through seminars, certifications, guest speakers, competitions, and more, members will network with other marketing students and professionals.
Students from Appalachian attended the 2015 conference.
In addition to faculty advisor, Dr. Pia Albinsson, and assistant professor, Dr. David Shows, the club will be represented by Sophomore Communication and Advertising Major Michael Lyday, Junior International Business Major Cole Anderson, Junior Marketing Major Molly Caldwell, Senior Communication Studies Major Jenny Luihn, Senior Marketing Major Booke Cohn and Sophomore Marketing Major Shelby Weatherman.
During the conference students will compete in events including Social Impact Video, Marketing Strategy, Sales Certification, Perfect Pitch and Sales competitions.
"This opportunity will provide us with the foundational building blocks to sharpen interpersonal marketing skills, gain and implement valuable knowledge from the nation’s most reputable marketers, and make us the best chapter we can possibly be by establishing synergistic goals of competitiveness and hard work," said Anderson.
AMA members will be posting to the Walker College of Business Instagram account (@walkercob) to share their experiences during the conference.
