First-ever Strategic Business Case Competition offers prize money for refining your skills

Through a Dean’s Club-sponsored Strategic Business Case Competition in the Walker College of Business, students at Appalachian State University will have the opportunity to refine key business skills in research, analysis, presentation, creativity and teamwork -- while earning up to $1,800.

Student-made teams will have one month to analyze a complex business strategy case and present their solutions to a panel of judges comprising industry and faculty experts. 

Winning teams will receive $1,800 (graduate level) and $1,200 (undergraduate level), and second-place teams will earn $1,000 (graduate-level ) and $800 (undergraduate level).

Register Online 

Students are responsible for forming their own teams of 2-4 members and submitting one registration form on behalf of the team.

Important Dates

  • March 6: Registration deadline.
  • March 16: Case released to registrants.
  • April 10: Video presentations due
  • April 17: Live Q&A for finalists and awards presentation at the Appalachian Research in Business Symposium.
