Dean's Club Research Prize applications now open

Full-time tenured and tenure-track business faculty members at Appalachian State University are invited to submit completed and published research for consideration of one of three financial awards:

  • One prize of $5,000. 
  • Two prizes of $2,500.

 The research prize was first awarded in 2019.

The prizes help support and reward faculty engaged in mission driven, high impact and innovative scholarly work. The winners, selected by an interdisciplinary committee, will be announced at the 2020 Walker College of Business' Sywassink Day of Excellence event, scheduled for Thursday, April 30.

Applications should include only work that has been published in a peer reviewed scholarly journal since January 1, 2018. Review the prize criteria and apply online by 5:00 p.m. on March 15, 2020. Questions? Email cobresearch@appstate.edu.  

About Faculty Research in the Walker College of Business

Walker College of Business faculty produce and disseminate extensive research through both academic and professional communities. In the last five years, faculty members have published approximately 400 peer-reviewed academic journal articles, 130 conference proceedings and made more than 400 conference and professional presentations in 170 different venues. In total, the faculty has produced more than 700 individual intellectual contributions in basic discovery research, more than 400 contributions in applied or integrative research and 240 contributions in teaching and learning research. The Walker College Dean's Club is an annual giving society designed to benefit our students and faculty while enhancing our academic programs.
