Appalachian State University senior Sam Cheatham has earned a Dr. Jim Street Award for Outstanding Presidential Leadership Award for his work with the App State Chess Club.
Cheatham is a senior majoring in marketing in the Walker College of Business. Cheatham is active in entrepreneurial endeavors and the college's TI Center for Entrepreneurship.
The award is part of the 2021 Student Organization Leadership Awards (SOLA), which are hosted annually by Appalachian's Club Council, part of the Office of Campus Activities, to recognize the outstanding leadership and achievements of Appalachian's clubs, organizations and student leaders. Students and advisors nominate organizations and individuals to win a variety of awards.
