Professor of Economics David Dickinson travels the globe in the name of better sleep

Walker College Professor of Economics David Dickinson tavels the globe in the name of better sleep – better sleep research, that is.

Dickinson is currently participating in an invited research visit at the Economic Science Institute (ESI) at Chapman University in Orange, CA, during which he is giving research seminar talks on his research on Moderate Sleep Restriction and time-of-day impacts on simple social interactions. Like Appalachian, Champman's ESI has a well-known experimental economics faculty, which includes Nobel Laureate Vernon Smith

Dickinson's research partnerships span many boundaries, and, in the coming months, Dickinson will visit the University of Rennes (France), speak at the University of Luxembourg's School of Law, Economics and Finance, and work on new and existing research with "sleep science" colleagues at the Monash University (Melbourne, Australia).

Dickinson will also make a stop at the University of Auckland (New Zealand), to work with colleagues on his existing research on sleep.

Related: Dickinson's research on sleep deprivation and interpersonal trust was recently featured in the IZA newsroom.
