Save the Date: 60th Boyles Lecture will feature Lord Michael Hastings, global head of citizenship for KPMG International

The 60th event in the Boyles Distinguished Lecture Series is scheduled for Friday, March 23, 2018 at 3:00 p.m.

The lecture will feature Lord Michael Hastings, Global Head of Citizenship for KPMG International. He was previously the BBC's Head of Public Affairs and then the first Head of Corporate Responsibility (2003-2006). He is the second Chancellor of Regent's University London.

Watch "The Power of Purpose," a TEDx video featuring Hastings' story about his family struggling to find basic commodities in the Jamaica of the 70s, which unleashed his desire to not only become purposeful but to help others reach that too.

A reception will follow the event on the floor of the Holmes Center. Both activities will be held in the Holmes Convocation Center on Appalachian's campus, and both events are open to the public with no fee to attend.

Shuttles will run to Holmes from Peacock Hall and the Rivers Street Parking Deck beginning at 1:45 p.m.
