The 64th event in Appalachian State University's Boyles Distinguished Lecture Series will take place Thursday, April 20 at 2:00 p.m. in the Schaefer Center for the Performing Arts.
Mr. Jamie Harris ACC ’84, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at RXO will deliver the lecture, entitled: Lessons in Leadership: Baseball to Business.
Mr. Harris is the third App State alumnus to serve as a Boyles Lecturer. Chairman & CEO Lexington Home Brands Bob Stec ECO MKT ’76 served as lecturer in 2003 as did President of the Duke Endowment Gene Cochrane BUS ECO ’72 in 2011.
As an App State student, Mr. Harris was a varsity baseball player. His experiences as a student athlete inspired his lecture.
As RXO's CFO, Mr. Harris provides strategic financial counsel and direction for the Charlotte-based, asset-light transportation solutions provider, which employs more than 7,000.
Mr. Harris has 35+ years of business-to-business experience with more than two decades in high-level roles for public companies, including Coca-Cola. He is a current member of App State’s Board of Trustees and a member emeritus of the Walker College Business Advisory Council.
