MBA Student Karlee Cook was honored at Appalachian State University's Cratis D. Williams School of Graduate Studies 2026 Faculty and Student Awards Ceremony on April 7.
Cook is one of six students who earned the Domer Research Award, established by Dr. Judith Domer, Dean of App State's Graduate School from 1997-2004, and her husband, Floyd, to assist with expenses related to scholarly activities.
“She is among the brightest and most motivated students I have ever worked with," said Dr. Jason Xiong, associate dean for advanced studies in business in the Walker College of Business. "She continuously seeks opportunities to broaden and refine her skillset, works independently to solve issues, and is quite passionate about the broader implications of the environmental issues she is trying to analyze.”
“My research is focused primarily on the effects of environmental hazards, which I think is so important to consider on policy decisions, especially when it comes to the health of our communities and our environment,” said Cook.
Cook was also honored for her second-place finish at App State's 14th Annual Three-Minute Thesis Competition that was held in November.
