Her interest in International Business began in her younger years of schooling, where a dual language program sparked her passion for the Spanish language and culture, leading her to seek global experiences.

A key highlight of Amaya's time at Appalachian State was studying and interning in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This opportunity allowed her to work with diverse colleagues and immerse herself in the local culture, enhancing her understanding of international business. Through her four years at Appalachian State, Amaya learned the value of asking questions and seeking support, describing the App State community as a second home.

She credits the dedicated professors with contributing significantly to her success and well-being. Amaya advises prospective International Business students to embrace the program for its incredible opportunities. She encourages them to step out of their comfort zones and try new things, emphasizing the diverse skills and experiences they can gain.
