Walker College of Business

Scholarships are available to incoming first-year and transfer students and continuing undergraduate and graduate students. Not every scholarship is awarded annually, as awards are limited by funding amounts and donor agreements.

All Walker College of Business students are encouraged to submit an application annually to be eligible for Appalachian State University scholarships. Complete the online application between December and February.

Applicants need only complete the online application as directed to be considered for all available business scholarships, with the exception of international and study abroad scholarships and select graduate programs scholarships, which require a separate application process.

Most business scholarships are based primarily on academic achievement and/or financial need. Additional consideration is given to career goals and involvement and leadership in extracurricular activities.
Students applying for scholarships are expected to meet the following minimum criteria.

• Pursuing a major in the Walker College of Business.
• Be a full-time student (registered for 12 or more hours per semester) unless otherwise noted.
• Be making satisfactory academic progress.

Most, but not all, Walker College scholarships require junior or senior status by the fall. Some scholarships have more specific criteria and are restricted to particular majors in the Walker College. Scholarship donors reserve the right to increase, decrease or withdraw scholarship funding. For annual scholarships you must reapply each year to be considered. Any past violation of the code of student conduct or the code of academic integrity may preclude receipt of any scholarship. Any violation while on scholarship may result in forfeiture of the scholarship.
